The fascia, soffit and bargeboards at your roofline are the first defence against water ingress at the eaves. In Eastbourne's coastal environment, salt-laden air and sustained damp conditions mean wood fascia boards deteriorate far faster than on inland properties. We regularly find significant rot on fascia boards that appear superficially intact — and even more commonly, we find rotten timber hidden behind UPVC capping that a previous contractor fitted without removing the old boards.
We strip all old material back to the rafter feet before any new installation. If we find rot in the rafter tails themselves — common on Eastbourne properties within 400 metres of the seafront — we cut out and splice before fitting new fascia. No hiding problems behind new cladding.
What We Replace and Install
- UPVC fascia boards — all profiles, white, rosewood and anthracite grey
- UPVC soffit — solid and vented for required roof space airflow
- UPVC bargeboards — gable ends and side returns
- Timber fascia and soffit — on conservation area properties where UPVC is not permitted
- New UPVC guttering — fitted to new fascia as part of full roofline replacement
- Stainless steel fascia brackets — standard specification within 500m of the seafront
